Help me choose a good camera

I have checked both online and in stores here in Australia but havent found anything yet that will grab my interest. What camera should I use? Is a $600 camera be good for a starter like me?

    Better start learning tru tutorial first about photography then buy a good camera. With that you can tell what to buy.
